Injection & Filler Treatments

Although you age, your skin doesn’t have to show it! As we get older, the muscles in our face begin to weaken, and wrinkles in the skin begin to form. There are different types of wrinkles, therefore there is not just one product to solve the problem! The type of wrinkles you have will determine which injectable will suit your skin best!

Dynamic wrinkles are wrinkles caused by the repeated contractions of the muscles in the face, due to facial expressions. The most common locations for dynamic wrinkles are between the frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and on the cheeks near the outer corners of the eyes, referred to as ‘crow’s feet ‘.

Neurotoxins such as Botox and Xeomin are used to weaken the muscles by blocking the nerve signals to freeze muscle movement. It will cause a reduction in the severity of the facial wrinkles and may prevent them altogether. Wrinkle folds are caused by the sagging of the skin in the facial structure and can cause deep pockets in the skin. These types of wrinkles should be treated with fillers such as Belotero and Juvederm.

Specialized injection & filler treatments!

Botox - Botox is made from a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin. Botox is used for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles such as forehead lines, crows’ feet and frown lines. It can also be used for lip lines, and for the corners of the mouth and chin.

In most cases, the effect of Botox lasts for 3-6 months. You will need injections a few times a year if you wish to maintain your line-free look. Once you’ve had Botox injected, the effects on the muscles usually become apparent within a few hours, with the main effects appearing after about a week. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time, because the muscles are being trained to relax.

Xeomin - Another neurotoxin, Xeomin, also blocks nerve activity in the muscles, stopping the facial muscles from contracting, smoothing lines and wrinkles. Xeomin does not contain additives, only botulinum toxin type A. This may mean that there is less risk of developing antibodies that fight against Xeomin.

The effects of Xeomin occur within one week, and in most cases the results last from three to six months, making it comparable to Botox in terms of both onset and duration of action.
Xeomin should not be used interchangeably with other botulinum products. After repeat injections, it may take less and less time before your symptoms return, especially as your body develops antibodies to the botulinum toxin.

Belotero - Belotero is a hyaluronic acid injectable filler that completely integrates into the skin tissue. While some fillers are designed to help rebuild not only the volume of the face, Belotero specifically treats moderate to severe lines and wrinkles such as vertical lines above and around the lip. Belotero maintains natural facial movement and expressions. In most cases, results last for 6 -12 months.

Juvederm - Juvederm is a hyaluronic filler that adds volume to plump up lips, smooth lines, or lift & contour cheeks. It is an injectable gel used to correct volume loss and severe wrinkles and folds. Juvederm offers a collection of products specifically designed to treat different wrinkle types and problem areas of the face. Results may vary, but last anywhere from 6-18 months.
